The Brenwood CNIB Story...
Brenwood Master Builders couldn't resist an opportunity to support people with vision loss while adding to the summer fun in their home community.
In 2003, they stepped in to revitalize what was then a modest golf tournament coordinated by the Grande Prairie Lions and CNIB. The Brenwood Golf Classic has become one of the most prestigious tournaments in Grande Prairie — the talk of the town — raising over $90,000 to support CNIB’s programs and services for people with vision loss.
Thanks to Brenwood Master Builders, CNIB’s local office has expanded to meet a growing need in northern Alberta. And 25 people with vision loss in the Grande Prairie area now have access to the specially adapted CD players they need to take advantage of CNIB’s library of audio books and magazines — thanks to Brenwood’s support.
It’s a partnership with a future. Vision health — Vision hope — thanks to Brenwood’s helping hand.

Hillside Community School
Over the past two years, Brenwood Master Builder Homes has been involved with our students and community through their financial generosity, kindness and time. Initially, Brenwood Master Builder supported our students by contributing to our milk program on a monthly basis. Students who we feel have less means then most to purchase milk regularly at school were “randomly” selected in monthly draws to receive milk tokens to be used for the month.
Brenwood’s involvement expanded to include making donations such as money and personal time to support our Annual Turkey Dinner and Christmas Store. Financial contributions went towards purchasing the Turkey Dinner plus all the milk needed serve over 400 students and guests. Brenwood Master Builder employees have come over the past two years on a regular basis to help serve at the Turkey Dinner, wrap Christmas gifts and pass out hot chocolate and cookies at the Christmas Store.
In the fall of 2006, our School Council was in a position to start the construction of a new playground. This was made possible through the generosity of Brenwood Master Builder. Initially, the School Council bad to look at pairing down from the original plans to begin the fall construction. Through Brenwood Homes and a very close associate, additional financial support came through to allow the School Council to realize their dream. The playground in its entirety will be completed in the spring of 2007. It might be noted that Brenwood Master Builder’s contribution and that of their close associate was significant in matching the government grant program support.
The impact of the Brenwood Master Builder’s support hit home to our school, staff and community at a grass roots level when it was also realized that the company basically shut down their operations one morning to help with the unloading and initial set up of the playground equipment. The Company also, after realizing we were falling behind, pitched in with a bobcat and operator for the whole weekend. We feel very fortunate to have such wonderful support for our children and community.

Grande Prairie Composite High School
The students and staff of Grande Prairie Composite High School are very grateful for the support we receive from members of the community. Brenwood Master Builder is one such supporter.
Over the past couple of years they have provided excellent fund raising projects for some of our teams and clubs; most notably associated with their outstanding golf tournament in June. We hope to be able to continue our involvement with that program for years to come and thank Mr. Miller for working with us on that project. In addition to financial support, Brenwood homes stepped up when the City of Grand Prairie could not and provided our school with a bobcat to help clear the football field for a provincial playoff game on the heels of two record setting snowfalls this past fall.
Support that directly impacts students and programs is deeply appreciated.
